  2) The lounge bathroom renovations are finally completely, so I don't have to leave the lounge anymore to use the public bathrooms. I was there at 5 in the morning, but thought maybe they could be more pro-active in cleaning the toilet.

  3) Food: The dinner options have improved significantly, while breakfast options are average. They do have a pancake maker now though, which is greatly improved.

  Going in, I was fairly impressed. Modern, clean, good bar (staffed), a food selection, variety in chairs/tables, and even a kids corner with a Playstation 4.

  I went to Catalina in October (2016), soon after it opened. It was a welcome change, there are now three lounges in Darwin Airport, of which Catalina is the only lounge available after going through immigration (the other two - Qantas and Virgin - cater to the domestic market).

  My disappointment stems from the food. It was terrible. My girlfriend was travelling with me, and she has no palate whatsoever, and even she declared the food near inedible. For the food alone, it went from a 4 star lounge to maybe a 2/3 star lounge.

  I didn't pay the $40-50 charge to enter...I wouldn't pay that much for a lounge...but going Business Class with Singapore Airlines (and Silkair as their local subsidiary), I got a free entry ticket when getting my boarding pass.

  Great news is that as of 2 days ago (16th December), the Catalina Lounge has joined the Priority Pass program, of which I have unlimited access, so I can spend time there on every trip to Bali/Singapore (ie. 3-4 times a year), and hope for good food. If not, at least there's free liquor to keep me occupied.
